Rockville Centre (Merrick: apartment, renting, crime)

Hi,
Thinking of renting an apartment in Rockville Centre. Forest Avenue between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway. Parking space is not included.
Can anyone offer any Pros or Cons regarding the area?

Walking home to/from the N4 on Merrick, I would pass at all hours. Never felt anything slightly shady. Realize though that there is substantial truck noise because you are sandwiched between the 2 main East-West roads.

I wouldn't park overnight along Sunrise overnight across from Wild Ginger - not many passers-by. Sunday am street parking can be an issue: Kingdom Hall nearby.

It’s fine. Road noise.
Becomes white noise if you live there long enough.
But generally “safe” aside from property crime like theft and such.
You might find your hubcaps missing but you’ll be alive to buy new ones.
