Still a better deal than low income housing the Elmont activists were asking for. Nothing brings up school taxes more than hordes of families living in a development that has a 20 year free pass on taxes.

I assume your being sarcastic, There is 0 % chance your taxes are going down. If they even see any tax revenue from the arena (big if, they got tons of tax breaks and it's on state land) it will be used to buy more crap or upgrade something not to reduce your taxes. Districts never used new found $$ to lower taxes. Maybe just maybe they use it to offset step raises and that just means a flat year but not a decrease.

I must be one of the lucky ones.

I only had a 7% increase in school tax this year. That's better than the 11% increase they gave me last year.

But it's all good, because my district makes the list of those that are under the 2% cap. Apparently, it's the "new math."

There's no point in complaining. The only option is to move, which is not practical for me. I just load up on mental lube to ease the pain.

I hope this is a sarcastic post. You will NEVER, and I mean NEVER see a reduction.

Except for Lawrence Public Schools... But, sadly, you really wouldn't wanna move there unless you're Orthodox.

Is that the district the orthodox got control of the Baird cut costs and taxes cause they all use yeshivas? It’s actually genius who cares about the schools if they aren’t using them.
