The bathrooms - dont even get me started, they look like the janitorial staff has not cleaned them in decades, staircases have chips of them falling off and we have TVs falling from the ceiling and hitting teachers on the head.
I think most passed because the budget increase was under 4% which is reasonable. The ones that were voted down were much higher.

Kings Park has some issues it needs to address:

1) Teachers have been without a contract going on 2 years now which is just stupid. Nobody comes out of this looking or feeling good.

2) 1/2 day kindergarten is a joke considering they are teaching 1st grade material in kindergarten these days. They have an empty school they could use but chose not to. Meanwhile they construct a new entrance to the HS....does that make sense?

3) They need to pick a new superindentent.

4) The budget was 7%....just too high.

IMO this is a perfect school district to merge with Smithtown....it will never happen.

I agree KB. Especially with the "first grade material" that is being taught in kindergarten. Boy the times have change since I was in school. And Im only 31. Not like some old fart, lol.
I think most people can swallow the 4% yearly increases. But the 9-12% is a lil much in my eyes.
