I can't believe oil v gas is the reason anyone thinks one home is warmer than another.

Not buying a house with oil because you don’t want to spend 12k on the conversion is a little extreme no?
Many houses don't have the option to be converted Sherlock. I had an oil leak in my house no I didn't smell it because the tank was in my basement and it was a slow leak, it was dumb luck I saw the wet spot underneath, I had to get an emergency pump done and was told I was very close to losing the bottom of my tank which could have sent 200 gallons into my basement destroying my house. I have a friend who had an outdoor tank leak and had to have her entire yard torn to shreds to be remediated cost her thousands. So excuse me if I never, ever want filthy, over priced eco time bomb you can run out of in one of my homes ever again. Enjoy it when your 2.75 contract (lol still expensive) is up and you are paying 4+ a gallon!

If you can’t see a wet spot under your tank I can’t help you “Sherlock”. No disrespect. But you need to maintain your house. Don’t blame the oil tank that is probably 30-40 years old.

Next argument will be damn my cesspool collapsed. I didn’t see the dip in my grass. I’ll never buy a house with a cesspool

Uhhh I did see the spot underneath hence how I found the leak genius. Lol I don’t even have a cesspool Einstein I live in the 21st century, which is why I use gas like the vast majority of the country does. Time to join the modern age. Enjoy your filthy oil filter changes, having to fill up, and 4 bucks or more a gallon coming soon! Hahaha

.
Must you call each other names like "Einstein" , "genius" and "Sherlock" ? I know this is
an engaging thread so I hope I do not have to muddy it up with deletions .
thanks .

I like the ability to fill-up before increases, like this mid February, when Ukraine was starting to be a major concern...
Go oil!

I just bought a. House in dix hills. Gas is like, a few houses away. I reached out to the neighbors to get together and submit our names to the gas company because they want that to bring gas to our street and got no response. I took a small gift and a nicely written letter and introduced myself and everything and they were nice to me but definitely not in a rush to get this done, I didn’t get a response at all.
