Crime in nice neighborhoods doesn’t make it a ghetto. Criminals are drawn to nicer towns. Would you think they would rather hijack a car from Roosevelt or Manhasset?
Car Jackings happen here because there is no punishment. Get caught and your out on no bail. Only way you get any type of punishment is if you do it in Suffolk they will hold you if your an illegal as they they check and have ice in all the jails.
Not true at all Suffolk booted ICE long ago due to that court ruling. They do not hold illegals for ICE anymore.

Reading the account and actual full description I suspect some folks would have sensed real danger when first approached by these two young men….and perhaps ran from the scene.
