It is, but the plain clothes cop NEEDS to tell the perp they are the police. LMFAO, what a joke.

The current violent crime wave won't be fixed with "bail reform" still in place on a state level. Same thing is happening in other far-left states like California. Obviously that's not the only reason things are spiraling out of control, but it's an important stop gap measure that addresses the plague of repeat so-called "minor" offenses like muggings, shoplifting flash mobs, etc.

I agree. Also, while it may sound inhumane, on the surface, abolishing capital punishment didn't help the situation, either. Like it or not, some people just can't function well in a free society, and are a huge risk to everyone else. And that shouldn't be tolerated.

Bail reform, tougher punishments and all that stuff is perfectly ok to discuss as policy but Stop n Frisk is absurd in 2022. Stop and frisk black and Hispanic males only randomly. Whats next? How about common sense. The peeps are literally telling you who they are and their crimes on social media. The mayor is wrapping all of them up.

What does "in 2022" mean? As if we're more enlightened now, as opposed to increasingly circling the drain in nearly every way possible? At this rate, we'll be bashing each other's heads with rocks in a few years, stop and frisk will be the least of your problems.

Incidentally, "stop and frisk" is still used all over the country, even "in 2022". in NY, a lone District Court judge decided that what the NYPD was doing was bad because statistically, it was disproportionately affecting people of color. The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals blocked that ruling from taking effect, but Mayor Bloomberg abandoned the policy because he was taking heat over it politically.

It's been a valid police technique for a long time, and is actually called a "Terry Stop" after the 1960's Supreme Court case in which it was held to be permissible. There have been some cases which limited it a bit, but it's still permissible, whether you like it or not.

I don’t care if 95% of the people stop and frisked are black and male or female and Asian or non binary lgb31r7q+ Or white and male. You stop them if there is a reason. If the cops stop them for no reason cause there racists it’s unfortunate. If that person has a gun it’s worth the profiling. Bottom line there was way less crim me during stop and frisk “terry stop”

Drove on the Cross Bronx today. The graffiti is exquisite- almost at the 1980's level!
