They need to pass a law, take the money out of the pension system and not the tax payers. Expect you taxes to go up once suffolk "settles" this lawsuit. So far, the police department has caused over 1 billion worth of lawsuits that homeowners pay in high taxes. https://www.newsday.com/long-island/...wsuit-yrgejvwu

Perhaps you should wait until the NYSAG renders it's results?

No amount of money will replace the loss of life. So what is the point of giving out so much money. Just pay for the funeral, and the property taxes, and that is it. Actually just untax whatever domicile the family has, and that is that.

Your family does not deserve to become millionaires because a loved one was at the wrong place and the wrong time.

If cop planted evidence he gets punished.

Ha! If only.
Lawyers would never allow that anyway. It’d be a huge blow to the industry.

Newsday quoted a part of the ag findings. Op title seems to be at odds with the newsday quoted article that he or she’s posted. Maybe the poster can clarify?

Per newsday article “An October 2021 report issued by the attorney general's office summarizing the office's investigations into officer-involved fatal shootings noted that Bonsignore "was armed with a knife."

“suffolk county hit with an 85 million dollar lawsuit after cops kill unamrmed man and fabricated evidence”

Just looking for clarification To be fair. Anything’s possible. Maybe the attorney generals report is wrong. Poster can have insider info

Just look the other way and put that thin blue line sticker on your vehicle. Do not challenge it.

I know. But seriously, this needs to end. Lawyers just going to have to find other ways to make money, or just accept how much they already make without ripping off the tax payers.

Only instance when I feel it ok for taxpayer to payout that much is if someone is wrong fully imprisoned for an extended period of time.

If you imprisoned short term, and got shanked by a crazy inmate, then sure, you can get something, but not become a multimillionaire, and move to Beverly Hills.

nothing beats paying for the same inmate that victimized one of your family members. not only does your family get hurt for life but they give you another slap in the face by having to feed this loser in jail.

we push so much for law enforcement to keep people safe but we also take care of our criminals as well. I don't understand what corrupt political agenda is benefitting from making sure taxpayers are feeding the jailbirds and giving them a bed to sleep on.

I think violent criminals should get nothing and if they need to eat, they can eat each other.
