Did anyone else get theirs? I was surprised and did not know checks were being sent out. I could sure use it.

It’s called vote for hochul check, paid for with surplus of $$ the feds gave the state that caused inflation. If you own a home and you’re 2020 tax return shows less than 250k you are getting a check.

Is this the old program that ended in 2019 or so ? Was 700 or so dollars ?

Edit found a random article.

Sent out earlier than expected. One year program. Typical. Just like poster above me said sadly.

Amount depends on your income and where you live.

https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/...ate-credit.htm

Kathy pulled a trick out of the former Gov and Trump playbook by having her name on the letter to take credit for this money.
As stated, its only a one year program/attempt to buy votes.

This wasn't supposed to come out until the Fall, but her internal polling must not be good since the checks are being sent out ahead of the primary, instead of the general. I'd imagine the Lt Gov crisis and the back door Bills deal forced them to speed up the timeline.

why is it based on year 2020 income, not year 2021 ?

People get extensions to file their taxes so the IRS does not have everyone's 2021 income. It is the same with STAR. They got back two years and use that income.

Thanks for sharing this, my mail carrier always steals checks and gift cards so I would not have known to look out for this on USPS Informed Delivery.
