that's because those pipes are rated fpr maximum of 40PSI. if your sprinkler guy pump up to the maximum PSI in hundreds you going to have your pipe crack every year! Or an inexperience newbie on the job, who was not taught properly.
Although, I have found it amusing over the years seeing the occasional head launch into space.
If the system is new, or under 5 years old, you should have relatively few issues when you activate it in the spring. After that, I would expect some sort of damage or repairs to be normal & necessary every season. It’s due to normal wear and tear of the components. Even though it’s “blown out” for the season, these components are outside in the elements 24/7 365 for the life of the system. Has nothing to do with the tech being a hack, or not.
