Portable Electric Heater vs using Heat in Apt? (apartment, buy)

Hi,


Has anyone had experience using a portable electric heater that one can buy from the store? And see if it actually helps you save some money as opposed to using the electrical heater one uses in an apartment one rents? Thanks.

IF I understand your question- you’re in an apartment that uses electric baseboard heat? If there are multiple thermostats, as there usually are with electric, you would just use the one in the room where you are- and turn down the others.
Electric heat is never cheap, but chances are the electric baseboard is more efficient than an electric space heater.
Where portable heaters can save some money is if you have one zone for the whole place- then you’d turn the one thermostat down and use the portable in the room you’re occupying…
If you could clarify things a little more it would help in getting a more targeted answer.
