I wouldnt think she should pay the last months rent.

That's probably because she left without a fight.. .I have a friend who is a paralegal for a LL/T attorney. They've fought evictions and have had tenants in the apartments for over a year after an eviction notice. It's all a matter of how much fight the tenant wants to put into it and having the right attorney.

In this person's case, he/she should not give the LL a penny in rent. The LL is not entitled to it. As a matter of fact, the OP can sue the LL and recoup the rent he/she has already paid to the LL, as well as suing for moving expenses, etc. Chances are the OP will be successful in court.

Absolutely not... the LL is not entitled to it and shouldn't even have the audacity to ask for it.
