I'm not a doctor but I stayed in a Holiday Inn express last night...HA HA HA
Seriously though...I stay in them all the time (travel for my job) because they tend to be less expensive. They offer free internet and a typical hotel buffet breakfast. They are not bad at all. I prefer Hampton Inn's because they have the awesome feather beds....but in general the Holiday Inn expresses are fine.
Check tripadvisor.com for reviews on the specific hotel...and they all vary.
It was non specific, but in the event family comes north to visit, I will NOT suggest the HIE in Setauket after hearing that yuckiness
I "lived" in the Fairfield Inn off exit 62 (by the huge movie theater) for 2 months waiting for my house to close. It was quite nice...decent breakfast and free wine on Wed nights!!
We lived at the Marriott Residence Inn in Plainview while our home was being repaired. Very nice! Indoor/outdoor pool, swimming lessons, game room, wine and cheese night, BBQ night with kegs of beer (woohoo!), free and fabulous buffet breakfast daily, stadium theater where they show movies every night. The rooms are huge, clean, and the staff was fantastic. We became good friends after our close to 5 month stay!

I've been to the one on Nesconset Hwy in Setauket area and it was nice. They have regular rooms, jacuzzi room,etc... Also i've had family stay there to from out of town. No complaints, they are definitely reasonably priced.
