anyone know of places a family can rent for a few months? (Oyster Bay: apartments)

My family and I are trying to sell our home and got an offer where the people want to be in in 6 weeks-problem is our house won't be ready for 3-4 months. We know the market is tough and it is a good offer but we don't have a place to go. Any ideas in western suffolk or eastern nassau. I called a homewood suites and it came to about 6000 a month-ridiculous. Thanks.

I believe that Fairfield Apartments offer short term leases.

If you don't mind being up north you can check out Norwich Gate on the Oyster Bay border; they offer 6-month lease options. Expect to pay a $300 a month premium for a short-term lease.
