Can anyone give me a visual/directions of how to get to Short and Long Beach?

Im very familiar with the area now, but havent been to either, and would like to take the kids before it gets cold out.

Also any differences between the two (playgrounds? easy to walk from car, etc?)

thanks !

You take Moriches Road north in Nissequogue (off of Route 25A east) through the village. You will pass Hollandia Farms on your left, then the Police Station on your right. When you see Long Beach Road on your right, that takes you to Long Beach. Staying on Moriches Road and bearing left, will take you to Short Beach Road and that park. Short Beach is better suited to young children, I think, it has a pavilion, playground, etc. and lots of people camp there on the west end. Long Beach is really more for people with Jetskis. There's really not alot there except an easy place to pull up with watercraft.
