I'm annoyed that my mortgage broker did not return numerous phone calls when I tried to lock in my rate at 6.375. Today we're at 6.75 and climbing. I know no one can predict a rate - but this stinks!

I've already paid an appraisal fee and am thinking of walking. What do you think? A second bank has already processed all of my paperwork as well and I'm pre-approved. I know that won't help the rate, but I'm pissed!

Thoughts?

I would - this happened to us when we were considering refi'ing. He waited and waited and didn't follow through and waited so long that the market started failing and we couldn't get the same refi. Drop immediately.

Loan Mod - you don't even know what their qualifications are...maybe it will take them 4points to buy it down.

OP- you should always shop around with different lenders/banks/brokers.
If you lock in a rate, then make sure they send you something to show that they have.
