Where are you driving from in the morning and how long does it take to get to the Ronkonkoma with traffic?

From Lake Grove it took me about 10 minutes. Never really any traffic at that time (around 7am). I have not done this for about 5 years though, but I doubt anything has changed.

I used to take the Smithtown train every once in a while, but it took longer to get there from my house and the train took longer to get into the city. It is, however, a good station for a relaxing ride on the double-deckers, which I find are much more comfortable than the regular electric trains.

I agree great for sleeping....lousy for commuting.

Those trains leave half empty every morning.

Good thing the North Shore declined to electrify.
