North Babylon I think is one of themost maligned communities, but is really a fantastic place to live. Here are some reasons why?

Affordable housing for young married couples with kids. Lots of nice homes between $350,000 and $450,000. The neighborhoods are very well kept. The people here are down to earth - lots of American Flags everywhere.

Great location for commuters- close to Southern State Parkway and Sunrise Highway. Deer Park train station is close by with ample parking. The Babylon station is close as well. It takes about one-hour to be in Penn.

Shopping all along Deer Park Avenue, Sunrise Highway, Route 110 is nearby, new shopping outlets being built in Deer Park. Everything is close at hand.

Recreation nearby - Phelps Lane Pool and Park - the pool is brand new, and Belmont Lake State Park are great. Robert Moses Beach is only a few minutes away.

Sports - football is big here "Go Bulldogs," Patriot Soccer is huge, Little League, Cheerleading, etc... This community is very sports minded.

Community Spirit - NB Fire Department: Halloween Haunted House, Christmas Santa Claus, Tree lighting, Christmas decorations on homes, Sunset City Civic Association, etc...

The Schools - tremendous amount of parental involvement, great sports program, teachers live in the area, lots of school spirit. NB library is great with lots of programs for the kids.

St. Cyrils Catholic Church - is an anchor for Catholic families. The area is very Italian and Irish.

Salpinos is a great place to go for cold cuts and other Italian foods.

Finally, North Babylon has the feel of a small town. It is the place where you are always running into someone you know. In fact NB residents will run into each other in other states sometimes - I personally experienced this. The people are good working-middle class people, real Americans.
Bitchin Xmas Spirit Too!

I don't know why you're proving to me that it's a great town. 3 people won't change my views. We just all share different views. life goes on.

Even look at that post about LI schools, NB is third to last. There are better places to live as far as schools.
I think you posted that one Sean....

I lived in Queens before I went to school, and now I have a job in the city so I just moved here a few months ago. I don't plan on raising a family in the city. Like I said earlier, don't be so quick to make assumptions.

Except that your views aren't based on any real experience. So you have no right to make the comments that you do about North Babylon.

Basically...NBres is on point...and since we don't have all the info on the what and why Rachael feels the way she does all we can do is assume so concerning assumptions...until you care to share the real reasons you have issue with North Babylon how can you possibly actively participate in this discussion?

I'm telling you...get on Southern State right now with your bread and go feed the ducks at Belmont Lake !!! I'm about to go pack up my SUV and get on I-85 cause thats what I WISH I was able to do this afternoon !!!

If you keep giving the ducks bread, you'll have no more ducks at the lake to feed. It's really bad for them.

I'm 44, and I've been crossing Belmont Ave into the park feeding them since I was 10. The ducks know me personally...they come running when they see I'm home. You know what ? Maybe NB isn't for you...you deserve your own thread for Smithtown...I now remember the big difference between North Shore and South Shore
