Has anyone else noticed the wildflowers growing in the grassy banks of certain Sunrise Highway overpasses? The passes at Route 231, 109, and Wellwood Ave. seem to be going gangbusters....
Very nice stuff....I would like to thank whoever did this. Yes, the best things in life are free, or at least relatively inexpensive.
I've noticed these too! They're really lovely and very cheerful. I took my West Islip friend out to lunch on Friday and we commented on the ones on the south side of the Route 231 exit ramp. They look like cosmos, Queen Anne's lace, and several others. I hope they self-seed and that within a few years the entire ramp area could be a blanket of wildflowers during the summer; wouldn't that be nice?
Nice to see someone else noticed too. I wonder if someone is trying to duplicate the long lost Hempstead Plains or something. Very nice job whoever is doing it!
