Loved the tri county busy bee and the arean flea market in Commack. They have flea bags I mean flea markets in Florida OMG what a joke
My mom had a video tape & video games booth on the 2nd floor of the Busy Bee back in the early 80's. I used to work there whenever I was home from college. Across from us was the arcade.
you know your from long isand when, the LIE is a place to eat that buttered roll and coffee.
You know you're from Long Island, when your accent comes out whilst you're angry. Haha.
Also, when you go to a supermarket in a different state and are amazed that their canned tomato selection consists of Redpack and Heinz. Maybe Del Monte!
Did we already mention Big Barry's Steak House or the Saint James Infirmary in North Babylon?
I'm missing my Long Island, what a place it was.
Ha! I used to work at St. James Infirmary. Barry used to tug on our nurses uniforms and ask us to make them shorter and shorter! Don't think "sexual harassment" was a term back then. What fun we had. Is the Nite Owl Lounge still around? We would go there after work at the infirmary and was friends with all those people. Have long ago lost touch.
I know I am from LI when I moved 10 yrs ago to Pa and came back here last week and know all the roads and areas and feel like I never left! Funny about the accent- I used to get teased that when I was angry the NY accent came out. Yes, I guess I kept the NY attitude and am proud of it!!!!!!!!
