This just reeks of appeasement. If he was the most qualified person to command the precinct then so be it but with the timing of the shuffle it is so obvious what really happened.
I too feel that this is a step in the wrong direction ... we cant keep doing things based on which group yells the loudest just to appease them. Give them and inch and they will take a mile. Pretty soon everything any level of government does will have to be approved by a board of "community activists".

Too early to draw any real conclusions. From what it sounds Mojica is well qualified for the position. Obviously some missteps occurred here a few of the kids were in custody for assaulting another Hispanic earlier in the day and shooting him with a BB gun and then were released
