As you know Long Island contains a fair amount of wealthy residents. Especially on the north shore. (Oyster Bay Cove, Mill Neck, Old Brookville, etc) I recently saw a couple of estate homes for sale and was wondering, where are the wealthy deciding to go? Are you downsizing and staying put or are you going to another area? Some of the estates look like they have been occupied by the same family for a some time.

In some cases, a cardboard box. Some of the rich are living hand to mouth and burning through cash as fast as the guy in North Babylon.

Not true, I know of someone who moved to Marco Island, FL and retained a residence in Lloyd Harbor after having lived in Old Brookville for 22 years!!

You also have to define by what you mean by wealthy. We have a bunch that looked good on paper that are now worth little and then those who have cash and other assets in the plus column. I noticed that the "rich" neighborhood has sprouted "for sale" signs like mushrooms after a rain storm.
