Well, my neice goes to a kindergarten class where three groups have developed...one group speaks Hindi, the other Spanish, and finally her group speaks English. The teacher seems to have no control. I find that unacceptable.
There is a lot of illegal immigration in Hicksville, and that doesn't help. Also, their test scores aren't the best and class rooms are starting to get more crowded with the influx from Indian subcontinent and Latin America.
I would say it's an average school district at best. My sister is about to pull my neice from their next yr and send her to the local Catholic School.
No one ever said Indians are not intelligent. Stop trying to put words in my mouth. However, the fact remains that when you have a bunch of ESL students in regular classes, the class is going to suffer. Period. End of story. That's not a knock on their intelligence, but rather just the immigration status that they find themselves in.
My worry about the influx has to do with language and overcrowding issues. It has nothing to do with the potential intellect of those ethnicities.
Are you talking about only north of Old Country Road, or that area closer to (just west of) South Oyster Bay Road, bordering Syosset?
