Old Field (North Shore) ~~ pretty much where I grew up , in a house that I can not afford to buy.

I too prefer the bluffs of the North Shore but truth be told I wouldnt mind being oceanfront East Hampton. Just not year round.

If I was looking for a town to raise family and money was no object...Id probably stay put in Rocky Point but move to a waterfront in the Terraces.

We thought about it...given that we are now infinitely rich for polling purposes. However I am not sure any amount of money is with putting up with the weekend warriors. Late Fall and late spring might be nice though...

I actually prefer the south shore. Its more down to earth, less ritzy and more affordable.

Yes, i am being realistic. Right now I live mid island and while I love my house and the surroundings, it is a pain to have to drive anywhere.

The North Shore is way too hot in the summer. I've been in Glen Cove when it is 95 degrees and drive down to Bay Shore or further east and it's in the mid 70's. If money were no object, South Shore here

Im convinced theyve banned MLSLI.

Im an Eastern LI guy.

That being said my favorite South Shore towns are Remsenberg and Bellport Village.

My favorite North Shore towns are Shoreham and Rocky Point.

My favorite Mid Island towns would be South Jamesport and Manorville.

I'm biased but my choices would be any of the following...

Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Lattingtown, Locust Valley, Matinecock, Mill Neck, Old Westbury (certain parts), Oyster Bay, OB Cove, Cove Neck, Brookville (Old and Upper too), Muttontown, Laurel Hollow, Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd Harbor or Lloyd Neck.
