I have to say I'm suprised the folks with the Million Dollar homes in East Hills aren't complaining. This was another video I took in Greenvale this afternoon. I really have to wonder why they have to fly so low, there's less margin for error with these new approaches IMO.
I do have to say though I'm starting to have fun filming airplanes, which may or may not be a good thing.
Its funny there were these guys in the background marveling at how low the jets were flying. Well I guess they are pretty cool to watch, but if you are tired and want some peace and quiet it's another story!
I saw some over Garden City last night. Quite low too. I don't understand why the normal ocean approaches weren't available last night. It was super clear and no wind. What the hell were they doing over the Island?
I live in Bethpage and cannot believe the airplane activity. I live over 20 miles from any airport but everyday there are planes no more than a couple thousand feet over my house on approach. They come in off the ocean by Massapequa and follow 135 north and curve right over Bethpage on their way west. One after another. The noise is relentless and we must run fans to drown out the noise. Why can't they just come in off the ocean right into JFK?
I noticed this about a week ago and checked for breaking news. I thought for sure that air traffic was being diverted. It was one plane after another. Very low. Not much noise though.

I know, the pattern is up 135 then curving over Central Nassau. It's ridiculous. People need to ornagize and put a stop to this! It's quite bad tonight here in Westbury, one plane after another since 9pm, some so loud the windows rattle!
