Done. Paid off a 30 in 15 years. All the people I know thought I was crazy, should have put that extra money in the stock market. Needless to say, I'm quite happy I didn't follow their advice.
One thing Long Island was good for, I moved away 5 years ago and haven't had a mortgage since. Made $500k selling our house in Smithtown at the perfect time It's a great country beyond those bridges & tunnels, if you can get through them
I took a 15 year. I'm in it 9. So six years and I'm done.
