Hey all - I recently moved to Long Island from the Midwest where one of the yearly rituals was to have a service come out and winterize the in-ground sprinkler system to avoid damage from water left in the system freezing up due to the brutally cold winters.

Is this something that is done here on Long Island? If so, how much should I expect to spend for a 3-zone system?

Not sure on the price but all they do is drain down the system and then blow out the lines with compressed air.

Yes you have to winterize your system here too, its about $90-110 dollars. You can do it yourself and save some cabbage, its very easy to do.

I have a seven zone system and the yearly fee (opening, closing and mid-term maintenance) is around $160
Just for closing is $65

Seems reasonable enough - thanks for the input guys. Incidentally, if anyone is willing to recommend a company/individual that they've been happy with, feel free to send them my way. I'm in East Northport if location is a concern.
