Hello,

I am moving from Suffolk LI, to Plattsburgh NY next month. I was curious if anyone had a good route that I could follow with a 14ft UHaul truck. I was thinking Throggs to 95S to 87N but would appreciate any better options. Once I'm on the thruway I'm fine, it's the city area that I'm not familiar with commercially.

JB

wow that's creepy...I just tossed a set of "commercial" directions to Plattsburgh like 2 days ago. My uncle had given them to me a few years ago when I helped my cousin move back from UOP. For some reason I held on to them, but the other day I was sorting through a box of old papers and such from when we moved, and the directions were one of the things I chucked.
Very weird.

The route you have in mind is the same one I would use, Throgs Neck to 695 to 95 to 287. This way you avoid the Cross Bronx, although if the traffic on the CB is light you could just take it to the Major Deegan north, cuts out a few miles.

I travel up that way a bit, and that's the route I'd take. Once you hit 87 it's a straight line up anyway
