Unfortunately, my parents didn't keep it stocked and wouldn't let us kids stock it for ourselves!

Don't laugh -- there's a market for 1920's and 1930's pink bathroom fixtures! I know two people who paid insane money for such.

Lesson: If you're gutting a several decade old bathroom SAVE THE FIXTURES! Someday those black 1980's toilets are going to command big coin!

That was my parent's den. You are really making me laugh with this nostalgia -- thanks!

My grandparents had an indoor fountain with a big statue in it in the foyer! (I'd love to see what the inside of that house looks like now ... hopefully minus that monstrosity.)

You wanna really laugh? My parent's had a big corner lamp of aconquistador who was holding the lamp. On the wall adjacent was a huge red velour picture with a tarry looking galleon, sails filled with wind. The frame looked like it was out of some Spanish castle.

And people wonder why I like very traditional decor....

Did our families frequent the same stores?

Did they have an extra-wide fireplace with a big spit in it for roasting the meats for the feast in the castle?

Not fooling -- if you have 20's-30's stuff, contact an architectural salvage company. You'll make some money for yourself.
