They caught the guy who killed the gas station owner. When will we wake up?

So one killing = a future filled with crime??

Its obviously a tragedy, and I'm glad they caught this guy, but this over sensationalism from every single incident that occurs needs to stop.

Have you been to Hicksville lately? It's not just this one incident, there have been others. Look around at all the grafitti and trash, and unsavory characters loitering around on the streets.
It's actually much worse than what we deal with in Westbury village.

I pass by this area everyday. It's a few blocks near the Plainview border. It means nothing. Hicksville is fine.

I dont like areas with grafitti, full of strange ppl loitering around, and signs in a language other than english. I was in the Hicksville library last week, went to use the restroom and saw a big MS-13 tag on the door, they tried to remove it but it was still quite visible. Should've taken a picture. 1st time I was ever in a library with gang grafitti in it.
Hicksville may not be a Wyandanch yet, but give it time.
Why is always when someone is upset about urban decay and increasing crime someone always comes in and plays the race card?

The crime really isn't up in Hicksville....

As far as the race card, if the guy who was arrested was white would you be making this post??

I found a new website that has crime stats for every zip code (thanks Keeper!), have to look into what methodology they use a little more but it seems to be pretty on point.

Here's Hicksville, crime is extremely low....on par with most other communities on LI:
Relocation Essentials: Crime Stats for 11801 ZIP code
