What is the scoop? Wasn't this the place that didn't play straight on their Section 8 list to keep out the minorities? Sounds like they have plenty of bad apples already that they can't keep out.

Sounds like News 12 in Valley Stream.

What the hell is going on in Smithtown?
I left Newsday for dead years ago.
Somebody high up in Smithtown government probably pissed off one of the Dolans, get under their skin & they'll drag you through the mud via their LI media monopoly.

I am not, nor have I ever been, a resident of Smithtown. I would like to address the stories you've posted in an effort to malign an entire township.
1) Karate instructor's crimes took place within schools in Ronkonkoma & Smithtown. He's an equal opportunity pervert. Bonfiglio was from Ronkonkoma, not Smithtown.
2) Arrest in stabbing @ Smithtown bar: Arrested in Friday's incident was Yan Rodriguez, 19, of Coram. Dirtbag from Brookhaven went to Smithtown to commit crime.
3) Four sought in drugstore thefts in the Town of Smithtown. Unknown skell from who knows where? Judging by the picture, and Smithtown's homogenous community, chances are they are not from Smithtown -- but we can't rule that out entirely.
4) Smithtown bribe case -- White collar crime, bad nonetheless -- no excuses.
6) Police arrest Middle Island man/Bank robbery. Like the pervert in #1, this man committed crimes in other areas as well. This was not Smithtown specific. "Police said Lewis robbed a Sayville Washington Mutual on Feb. 26, robbed an Oakdale Washington Mutual and attempted to rob a Smithtown branch of the same bank Wednesday." I see TWO Town of Islips and ONE Town of Smithtown.
7) Subpoenas is directly related to story #4, this is redundant.
8) Heroin is EVERYWHERE. The story pertains to a meeting which was held to enlighten parents about the drug, and all aspects pertaining to it. Geesh! A girl from my former HS in Nassau (home of VS) ODd on H last year. This isn't solely a Smithtown issue.

So bad thing happens in New Cassel the place is a living hell, Bad thing happens in Smithtown it is an conspiracy from Cablevision.
Got it
REALLY bad things happen in New Cassel & other towns everyday but don't get reported. The Dolans are very selective on what they CHOOSE to report.
I know for a FACT that two HS girls from Massapequa were caught & have confessed to prosituting in NYC to support their Heroin habits. Was it on news12? Nope Was it in Newsday? nope. It didn't even make the radar.
I live in the township some of the dirtbags originated from -- how can I be defensive?
