Yes. A friend of mine has an efficiency apartment and pays $35 for one hour per week of dusting and vacuuming. He lives in a city and perhaps the rates are higher there. On the other hand, the woman might have all her customers in that high rise.

I pay $70.00 for three bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath condo bi-weekly. My girl works fast and usually gets the job done in 4 hours. I think thats a reasonable fee especially since I have children with lots of toys all over the house. I have had her for years and she is very honest and trust-worthy. She is a mom as well, so she is dedicated to working hard and honestly for her children. I would recommend her to anyone so if you live in the Manhattan/Brooklyn area, message me for her info.

I am starting to think I am being overcharged. I pay $70 and the person spend around two hours cleaning. Is this a reasonable fee?
Thank you.
I wish I could afford a maid. I am the maid LOL. I do all the house cleaning but it would be nice to have someone come twice a month to do a big cleanup in between the daily cleaning that I do.

As I get older I am less inclined to clean house. Time is running out and if a person is in reasonable health and can afford it, a maid or housekeeper is a god-sent. Save all you can while you are still energetic enough to work.

Do your homework! Check the person out, get references. I just cleaned, laundry, dishes for 5 hours, I agreed on $10 hour. But if I am going to become more permanent, I want raises, I can't live on $ 80 a week. Even a full-time position, offers you health care insurance, steady hours, and set times for employment. But this position is only part-time for now, they are a great family.

We use someone who does an excelent job in our house, 75 bucks every two weeks. She is typically there about 3-4 hours, and does the house top to bottom.
