Hey everyone, I'm going to I-CON this weekend up at the StonyBrook College and was wondering what kind of places there were to eat around there. Thanks for the info.

Well, they have their own dining place which has great sandwiches and pretty good pizza and all. The campus is not that accessible to either Setauket or Stony Brook, but there are restaurants in both villages.

This year's I-Con is at Suffolk Community College Brentwood. This is the first year since it was started that it is not on campus at Stony Brook. There was construction work planned for the gym and there was uncertainty as to whether it would be finished in time for I-Con 28.
That written, I have no idea what sort of dining is available near SCC Brentwood.

I have been to J&R's Steak House's Stonybrook location and enjoyed it. The salads are GIGANTIC ... too gigantic for 1 person to eat and they have good specials on everything. If you can eat a 76 oz. steak in under 1 hour you will get it free. (NO, I did not do this ... I am not that much of a gavone!)

I am sorry I keep reposting this, but I would hate to see the OP wind up very disappointed at Stony Brook, and have the OP waste his/her time and fuel having to then drive to Brentwood.
Bay Shore eats.... I suggest either Smokin Al's or one of the Japanese spots.
