I always loved that part of the island. Since my wife and I are both commuting into NYC for work, going east of huntington/northport is really not an option. Otherwise, SB/RP def seems like the best deal on LI if you want to be near the water.

Can't go wrong in Lindenhurst or W Babylon then. Same type of down to earth communities, waterfront and water view properties to be had at a fair price, an easy commute ot the city to boot.
