Overall, it really depends on your particulars. For instance, if you do a lot of laundry on warm or hot, it might help to use cold water. There are detergents formulated for that. (I found that alone did help mine--but I do a lot of laundry.)

Thanks for the offer, but Texas has not, nor will be on the list.
We know where we're going, I just hate mentioning it because I don't want Northerners catchin' on and ruining it like they did to FL, NC, etc..
I am balance billed at 133 monthly. I owed an extra 60 to break even for the year. That works out to 138 a month for 2009. I run a hottub outdoors year round have oil heat but also run a pellet stove. I used 2 tons of pellets this year 280 for the first ton and 250 for the second. Not delivery. Its about a break even this year on the pellets but the house is MUCH warmer.
My balance was over $300 a month. Family of 5, 2600 square feet hot tub. Gas heat and hot water. Kids leave lights on all the time. We have central air.
Got fed up installed CFL's motion detector light switches for the kids rooms and in December SOLAR PV . My first bill on the shortest day light of the year was $130. I hope to have no electric bill soon.
Seems like I am one of the few who doesn't complain about LIPA bill
