You were lucky to get the little bit of sunshine we've had since the storm!

The Planting Fields Arboretum is in Upper Brookville ("Oyster Bay, NY 11771" mailing address).

Upper Brookville is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the village name in their mailing address: places in the Village of Upper Brookville have an "Oyster Bay, NY 11771", "East Norwich, NY 11732" and "Glen Head, NY 11545" mailing address.

My sister lives down the block from there. I remember before it before it became a state park, you could get a student membership fpr $20.00 all inclusive. What a great place to relax and spend a summer day, my wife and I spent an entire summer exploring the place. There are some great hiking trails in the back too.
One time we hiked up to the back of an old mansion. The owner walked out and explained we were on his property, we had no idea. Then is wife walked out and invited us in for ice tea and cucumber sandwiches. We spent most of the day with them talking about the area and the history of the Gold Coast.
We are still friends with them today, that was 15 yeas agao!

its mixed.... i used a nikon d300 with 17-55mm f2.8 for some and the flowers are a 90mm tamron macro...

my wife used a nikon d80 and 18-200mm

the camera is pretty much irrelevant for these, the magic really happens by capturing a well exposed photo and then using nice creative post processing. some of the first group are as many as 5 different exposures merged into 1 .
