Are there any trailer parks in LI? How are they? How do they sell? Are they considered bad if you buy one/live in one (especially on long island)? In Florida they are really popular and maintained. I wondered how they are here in LI. (Looking to relocate.)
Can anyone throw out a few trailer park areas around here so I can search. Location we are looking in is suffolk county... price is negotiable as well. Schools are not important.
There is one in Amityville just south of the Southern State on Route 110.
I've been through most of them in the Riverhead area and imo: stay away from the ones on 58 east of northville, and the ones on northville at middle road. the 55 + parks on osborn, hubbard, rt 58 (west end) and mill are real nice. the family park by the forge looks nice as well.
What prices are decent for mobile homes? 100k and less or 100k and above? Does it depend on the area?
depends.. u can see the listings on mlsli.com. most are under 100k, but some can approach 200k if they are expanded and really nice inside. but it seems your basic trailer starts as low as 15-20k

That's insane. Who would pay that for a trailer? A trailer wears out just like a car does. It is not like an actual house.
I don't think mobile homes wear out as fast as a car does. You don't use an engine or anything like that!! It's just parked there and the outside is made of the same thing as vinyl or aluminum siding is. There's a very nice over 55 park on Pond Road running between Sound Avenue and 25A in Calverton or Wading River, one of those out there.
I believe that you are thinking of the trailers that you drive and see in hillbilly movies. I am talking about the ones that sit on a lot. You have a roof on it and the same siding a house would, except it really isn't an ideal house. I can believe prices being high if the interior is fixed up.
