Forget age, why does everyone thinks age still a factor after 18? If you are old enough to drink/drive and vote, don't come using "too young and too stupid" as an excuse. We don't see old people using that excuse do we?
If he was dumb enough to **** and provoke someone so he gets chased... he had it coming. Ran him over because he was scared? Give me a break, you only have two pedals, one to stop and one to go forward...panick inside a locked car after calling 911? you got to be kidding me???!
Should the guy be killed because he was a terror in his own neighborhood? No. Nor should anyone be dumb enough to provoke someone on the road either.
..so I take it you get out of your car and bang on people's hoods when you perceive that they have slighted you?
The guy went after the kid twice. The guy got out of his car and was banging on the kids car. The kid tried to get away but couldn't and ended up running over the guy. The 35 year old was dumb enough to get out of his car twice, and and chase the kid through red lights. I'm sorry, the kid may have acted like a jerk but the guy was irrational.
So the logic here is because two wrongs from the older fool makes the kid a saint and we excuse his initial provoke? They both had it coming. One foolish enough to provoke, one "irrational" to followup. I pity both fools but don't expect me to feel sorry for either if I'm in that courtroom. Bottom line, one dead person, one killer with witnesses. The old fool paid his price with his life and now it's the kid's turn.

The kid should not have provoked, but saying "eff you" and flipping the bird is not a criminal act. Running a red light to chase someone down, blocking someone in with your car to prevent them from fleeing, getting out of your car on a busy road and pounding on someone's car.... these are all criminal acts. The kid hit the guy because he was trying to flee an obvious mad-man who wanted to cause physical harm to him. The kid is not saint but there's only 1 criminal here (at least up to the point the kid tried to flee - for which he should be charged with attempting to flee the scene of an accident).

Yup. Like I said. 3 sides. Everyone presumes the kid was just minding his own business and this crazy man flew off the handle.
I don’t know what happened because I wasn’t there but I would presume both parties had a hand in provoking the situation. One of them got killed. The other will now spend some time in jail.
Just because you are provoked does not give you the right to break many laws and try to attack someone. Logic like this is the problem with LI.
You know that massing up troops on the border of another coutry is provacitive and considered an act of war right?
It could be disorderly conduct, creating a disturbance, breach of peace, or even assault (assault is threatening someone or trying to hit them and missing; battery is hitting someone. All of those things are against the law without physical contact.

Giving someone the finger and driving off is assault? I'm sure the kid did provoke him..probably called him names, challenged his manhood, etc...the guy got out of his car. His fatal mistake. If he simply stayed in his car, or even got back in and drove off after the FIRST time, he'd be alive today, maybe with a slightly bruised ego at worst. A message to every tough guy on LI overflowing with bravado..grow up.

HAHA
Anyone with half a brain realizes that flipping the bird is not equivalent to running red lights and chasing someone down and getting out of your car and pounding on their car.
