LI man charged with aiding al-Qaida (http://www.newsday.com/news/local/ny-nyterr2312992966jul22,0,6640900.story - broken link) reports that, "A Long Island-born man participated in an attack on an American base in Afghanistan and funneled information on the Long Island Rail Road to al-Qaida after he was trained in a Pakistani terror camp, according to published reports."

The NEWSDAY article continues, "Bryant Neal Vinas, also known as "Ibrahim," was indicted last November and has been a secret prosecution witness in several terror-related criminal cases in Europe, those reports said."

The indictment was revealed Wednesday in court papers unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn.

If anyone can find the street address for the Vinas residence in "Patchogue", we can figure out if "Ibrahim" came from the Village of Patchogue, the Hamlet of North Patchogue, the Hamlet of East Patchogue, the Hamlet of Blue Point, the Hamlet of North Bellport or the Village of Bellport, all of which are all or partly within the "Patchogue, NY 11772" ZIP Code postal zone.

How disturbing. I wonder what compelled this middle class kid to convert to Islam and then commit treason against the United States and plot to kill people who could very well be his neighbors?

I hope he hangs.

Default For those who may not be familiar with North Patchogue

Thank you.

According to the Census Bureau's online address search function, 11 Anker Court is in North Patchogue ("Patchogue, NY 11772" mailing address).

For those who may not be familiar with North Patchogue:

North Patchogue is a hamlet (unincorporated area) in the southwest part of the Town of Brookhaven, in the south-center part of Suffolk County, along the Brookhaven/Islip town line.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of North Patchogue in the Town of Brookhaven is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Holtsville; on the east by the Hamlet of East Patchogue; on the south by the Village of Patchogue and the Hamlet of Blue Point; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Holbrook in the Town of Islip (the Brookhaven/Islip town line).

North Patchogue is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of North Patchogue have a "Patchogue, NY 11772", "Holbrook, NY 11741" and "Holtsville, NY 11742" mailing address.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): //www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html
