Shame on the town pols for allowing Rt 58 to become filled with the corp big box stores and not plan for the heart of the town.
Second, if this is the way it is, then we need a PetSmart on Rt 58 ASAP!

All true
FWIW theres a Petco on 58

From what I hear, Petco pales in comparison to Petsmart.

Yes I know there is a PetCo but PetCo is PetCrap. Horrible store compared to PetSmart. Don't even get me started on that. LOL

Where is the closest Bed Bath and Beyond and Trader Joe to the Riverhead area? I would be traveling from the North Fork. Thanks for your responses.

Anyone remember when 58 used to be a quiet road with nothing on it?

Go to Yellow.com (yellow pages). Plug in "stores" for the business type and the zip code for Riverhead. The results page will let you choose from categories like supermarkets, department stores, drug stores, etc. When you click on the links that interest you, scroll down past the big store advertising for the local stores and their addresses.

Yellow Pages

I always recommend that people do this for stores and restaurants before they move so they know what's in a town.

I remember Rt 58 having little on it. All shopping was done down town at alot of Mom and Pops, and of course Swezeys and Sears. I think Dunkin Donuts has been at the circle on Rt 58 forever though- or maybe I'm not as old as I feel? LOL
