Stop and Shop
Waldbaums
Borders Book Store
Best Buy
Staples
TJ Maxx
Target

Route 58 has everything, but downtown has nothing. Pretty much the rule when it comes to Riverhead.

Ill go a step further.
IMHO Rt 58 /Tanger outshine the SmithHaven Mall in terms of shopping hands down
Being equidistant to both in Rocky Point....we rarely go to Lake Grove.

If you cant find it in Riverhead, you probably dont need it.

home goods
agway
modells
PC Richard
Michaels

The only stores we lack in Riverhead IMO are
Kohls ( I go to Rocky Point)
Trader Joes or Wild By Nature ( I go to Hampton Bays)

There's a Borders in Riverhead? Where?

As for chain restaurants I believe there is Applebee's, Friendly's, McDonald's (Tanger Outlets), and I think a TGI Friday's.

Borders is in the same shopping center as Friday's and Boulder Creek.

Isn't that by Home Depot and Waldbaums?

There's also another McDonalds way east on 58, a Taco Bell, a Wendy's, a Ground Round, Pizza Hut, and KFC.

First, I have to say, that after moving away about 11 years ago and now moving back, and having raised my kids in Manorville, I am so saddened to see what has happened to downtown Riverhead. I have fond memories of Main street and my kids getting their new bikes there and Sears was MY Sears and Sweezy's was MY Sweezy's. I could not believe my eyes. The town is a slum now. Shame on the town pols for allowing Rt 58 to become filled with the corp big box stores and not plan for the heart of the town.
Second, if this is the way it is, then we need a PetSmart on Rt 58 ASAP!
