Increase in bugs/pests this summer??? (Carle Place: apartment, house, live)

My husband and I have lived in our 2nd floor apartment in Carle Place for 2 years (this is our 3rd summer). There has always been occasional pests; spiders, ants, and centipedes, which are so gross! This summer, however, feels like the worst yet! We are very clean people and think the extra pests are due to all the rain and humidity. The centipedes are the biggest problem of course.

Is anyone else having an increase in pests this summer? Can anyone recommend a safe product (I have a cat) to eliminate these gross insects?

The rain and humidity will definately make the bugs worse. The ticks and pine flies are very bad in the woods this year. Fall cant come soon enough!

I haven't had an increase yet in anything except ants (never had them before) and lethargic bees. I've killed 2 sleepy bees in my house the past couple of days. Very strange.
