Can someone please give me some information about the following neighborhoods-- kids?, safety, proximity to services, which schools kids attend, etc?

1 - 25A, Stony Brook Rd, Dogwood Ln

2 - 25A, North Country Rd, Jeffrey Ln

3 - Mt. Grey Rd, Quaker Path, North Rd - there are two houses available on this street...any reason for this?

4 - 25A, Thompson Hay Path, Setalcott Ln.

Any suggestions on where to find rental homes other than MLSLI?

Trying to narrow down possible places to live but need help with the area. Thanks for your help!

making the best of it, you can find out in which community (city, village or CDP) a house is actually located, which is oftentimes different from the community named in that house's mailing address, by using the Census Bureau's online address search function. (CDP or Census Designated Place is the Census Bureau equivalent for a hamlet in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.)

And, very importantly, among other things, the Census Bureau's online address search function also indicates in which school district an address is located.

These are all in the Three Village school district. I want to know which specific schools within the district the kids in these neighborhoods would attend.

I'm not sure, but I think that with those adresses:

Elementary: Setauket Elementary
Middle School: Gelinas
High School: Ward Melville

All very good schools

I live in the area and have children in the schools.

Quote:

Mount Elementary, RC Murphy JHS, WMHS

That's actually off of Main St.: 25A/Main St/Jeffrey
Setauket Elementary, Gelinas JHS, WMHS

Setauket Elementary, Gelinas JrHS, WMHS
No particular reason for 2 homes to be for sale on the street other than the fact that there are a lot of homes for sale on LI in general.

Quote:
4 - 25A, Thompson Hay Path, Setalcott Ln.
Minnesauke Elem., Gelinas, WMHS

House #2 is walking distance to library, supermarket, deli, churches, Setauket School, doctors offices, dry cleaners, banks, restaurants, etc.
House #3 is in a community with beach rights and is walking distance to West Meadow Beach, and Gelinas JHS.
House #4 is walking distance to LIRR, SUNY SB, Banks, convenience store, dry cleaners, restaurants.
House #1 is in a neighborhood which backs SUNY SB dorms, LIRR tracks and is not a truly walkable location unless you don't mind your children crossing the LIRR and campus.
