Hello,
Really sorry for reviving this thread...
I've been talking to Wells Fargo and Astoria Mortgage and both didnt know about the MCC or SONYMA programs.
Can anyone recommend a solid lender with good rates and have experience with MCC or SONYMA?
Thanks

Wells Fargo did my MCC. I have to admit that they did not know much abt it, but after I gave them the information the loan officer found out the required information. DM me if you need the loan specialist information. Maybe some branches do not do it.
I just stumbled on this and I appear to meet all the requirements but the site says only certain banks participate in this? Anyone know more about this? Wells Farg ois on the list but my lender, Citi, is not.

I actually called Astoria Savings (participating lender on sonyma's website) and they said they dont' do it anymore.
Talking to Wells Fargo right now and they don't know much about it but I've given Elke's recommendation a call.
Another question no one could really answer was how they determine my income. Is it based on current paystubs? My wife's a freelancer so it's a bit more difficult.

That definitely adds another degree of difficulty - self-employed individuals (myself included) have a much tougher time qualifying and have to jump through additional hoops...
If you're still stumped after your next call, let me know and I may have another suggestion.
