Hi, just a quick question...We are in contract for our first home in East Rockaway. Will the website that show the home also state that it is in contract? Just out of curiosity

Well if its the multiple listing site, they're supposed to take the listing off (however i've seen many listings that were under contract still up there). As for the personal real estate website, it may take them a while to list it as such. For example, one real estate site lists a home as "price just reduced". The thing is, it was reduced six months ago.

If it was listed through MLS, it will disappear entirely from the public site once the agent change's it's status. It is supposed to be changed as soon as it goes into contract. Although it is against the rules, some agents will leave it up longer so that they can generate more buyer leads for other properties.

shan1112, is the house you are purchasing in the Village of East Rockaway or in the Hamlet of Bay Park ("East Rockaway, NY 11518" mailing address)?
You can find out in which community (city, village or CDP) a house is actually located, which is oftentimes different from the community named in that house's mailing address, by using the Census Bureau's online address search function. (CDP or Census Designated Place is the Census Bureau equivalent for a hamlet in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.)
And, very importantly, among other things, the Census Bureau's online address search function also indicates in which school district an address is located.

The house I am selling is still on the website, but the one I just signed a contract for was taken off its website .

on listingbook, the listing stays, but status is "pending" you can also view "sold" properties up to 3 years back
