I did not know east Northport was a hamlet ( there are so many places in LI.. so its good to have Walter educate us).

A reason that I made it a point to congratulate the East Northport Chamber of Commerce for knowing that East Northport is a hamlet is because the main chamber of commerce for the Town of Huntington, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, mistakenly refers to the Town of Huntington as a 'township'.
It was a great frustration to Rufus B. Langhans, the long time Town of Huntington historian, that the Town of Huntington chamber of commerce incorrectly referred to itself as the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.
