Reminds me of the folks who bought cheap houses on the service road of the LIE and complain about traffic noise

I live about 7 blocks from JFK how do you think I feel sometimes lol, it was way worse when they had that Concorde, it used to shake the ground and cancel out every sound for about 10-20 seconds.

I'm used to it but it still bothers me at times.

Good luck.

P.S. Yes, the title of this post was quite....interesting! : )
No, because the FAA can change the flight patterns at will. Years ago it was folks in Searingtown and Floral Park that were getting hammered. No place is safe from the noise since the FAA can decide without hearing as to where these planes go. Only safe place is out east in Suffolk, no way I'm going there as much as I love the pine barrens, because there's much worse public transportation, and no Fios. Now that I have Fios there's no way I'd go back to cable, not for anything or anyone!

Once again, the FAA can change routes without any hearing or public input. The LIE and the LIRR have always been there, but the flight path hasn't. The FAA should use the ocean routing unless a strong SW wind makes it unsafe, then it should use the inland routing with a higher variation of flight path and elevation.
No community should be dealing with constant noise for an hour or more, instead the routes should be alternated. I know there's supposed to be a redesign of the airspace, but I hope what I'm experiencing isnt the redesign.

It's bad tonight.

And yes, I remember when the Concorde used to fly over. Yikes.

Garden City has it even worse than us. I'm suprised the village hasn't gotten involved in the issue. Floral Park got involved and its why most of the jets are bumped over us. Everyone really needs to "share" the pain so a few communities like Westbury, Mineola, and Garden City dont get pounded like this. I had to put the a/c on, just to cover up the noise.
