Hi all, we just closed on our house in Mt. Sinai after about 6 months of looking and almost "settling" for houses we didnt really like because we thought we could never afford what we really wanted. Thank God we never "settled", because we finally found the house of our dreams and were actually able to afford it. 4 bd 2 ba colonial in beautiful Mt. Sinai. I would like to thank all of you for helping us and answering all the annoing questions we've had over the past 6 months, (and I'm sure i'll have many more now.) Any advice (on anything at all) from people in the area is greatly appreciated. Thanks Citi-Data!

Well we considered the big move, but the negatives outweighed the positives, so we stayed and very happy we did.

Congratulations!!! If you have not seen it, You have a really nice new park at the end of Rt. 83 (Heritage Park?) From what I understand, next spring there is going to be an "Avenue of the Americas" of trees, where that state tree from each state will be planted around part of the walking track. How they are going to get a Kukui Tree (Hawaii) to grow on LI will be interesting :-)

I live just east of Miller Place/Mt Sinai, in Sound Beach, so if you have any questions about local stuff feel free to send me a message.

Do you think that they could have created a park with any less shade? My goodness. I hope these are somewhat mature trees they are planting, or you are going to have to wait about 20 years to get any shade. Ah, Mt. Sinai.
