Question on these types of homes. I've seen some homes in Selden where the garage is in the middle of the house. Looks to me like it was a model home. I would think that would take away a lot of space. Are these types of homes any good? I just think the that practical wise, its not so hot with room to room access. Just wondered what your thoughts are on these.

Oh yeah and what would you call them? A ranch or do they have a specific name?

in the middle of the house? Or is it actually below the house, like in the basement?

Nope, literally in the middle of the house. The driveway and garage are in the center. I thought maybe someone added onto it but after driving in the area, I found more of them. So to me it looks like a model home. Just wondered what others who are in them think of them.

That's strange. I've never seen that before.

I think it would take up a lot of space.
IMO, the best use of space in a small home is the garden variety L-shaped ranch.

I have no idea. But this isn't a hoax. They do exist. I would think to get from one side to the other you'd have to go all the way around the garage.

I lived in Selden for a year and never saw a house like that. It's strange...It may affect the rooms beside it when it comes to temperature. I guess it depends on the insulation.

They're in the area north of the Home Depot in Selden.

They are for couples who are divorced, but can't afford homes on their own. The garage divides the house in half nicely.
