This will be our 2nd winter in our house in Williston Park, and we were wondering if it would be worthwhile to have someone start up & inspect our furnace & radiators this year, or just turn it on & hope for the best like we did last year.
Does anyone have a service contract for their gas furnace?? If so, what can I expect to pay, and what does it cover?? Do they service the radiators too?? We got ripped off at our last house when we needed a late night repair in the middle of January, so we don't want to go through something like that again, yet we don't want to pay a set amount for a service we may never need. Any suggestions??
I used James Henderson Plumbing and Heating for this a couple of years ago. If I remember correct, it cost $200 to check out my steam system and replace a couple of small parts (he replaced a glass tube that was cracked and one of my radiator valves).
