Third, for those who may not be familiar with Bellport:
Bellport is a village (incorporated in 1908) is in the southwest part of the Town of Brookhaven, in the center-south part of Suffolk County.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Bellport in the Town of Brookhaven is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of North Bellport and the Hamlet of Brookhaven; on the east by Bellport Bay and the Great South Bay; on the south by the Great South Bay; and, on the west by the Hamlet of East Patchogue.
The Village of Bellport has a different border than does the "Bellport, NY 11713" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Bellport, NY 11713" mailing address and not be in the Village of Bellport and a place can have other than a "Bellport, NY 11713" mailing address and be in the Village of Bellport): places with a "Bellport, NY 11713" mailing address that are not in the Village of Bellport are in the Hamlet of East Patchogue and the Hamlet of North Bellport; and, at the same time, there are places in the Village of Bellport that have a "Patchogue, NY 11772" mailing address.
For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County):
